Some of these are as serious as I know how to be, while others (especially the ads) are just plain nutty.  Sorry, but I can't seem to help myself.  This is not an apology, just a fact.  These are hard times.  Rome is burning and Nero is griping that his filet mignon is over cooked.  Millions of people sit in long-term care facilities suffering late-life despair alone while many within the church remain indifferent.  I get angry about that.  Yes, I grumble, but I laugh, too.  Believers live joyfully because God's son died for us.  Praise his name!  He offers life to the full!  (John 10:10)                                                                                                                                                                                     -Rich Walters

After that ruckus between Jon and Belva I determined to learn how people might be led to get along with each other.  This morning I still thought it was a good idea, but that was before I woke up.  When I finally pried my eyes open, my brain woke up and told me to forg...

Many old sayings are true.  Truth keeps them going instead of being forgotten.  One that is common is “A picture is worth a thousand words.”  That is why there is a picture of Jon’s reaction to what I was talking about, instead of a thousand words.

Things were...

After I embarrassed myself in front of Jon and no one else, I decided to see what I could find out about the silly portrait of the galoot and his gal.  Whether you like it or not has little to do with the value of an antique, I’m told.  The thing has been appraised at...

Here I am where I always am, but I don’t feel like the person I usually feel like.  I suppose that is common among jail birds.  They tell me to count my blessings, so I do, but I feel empty.  They tell me to be optimistic, to look at the bright side.  I do, but I feel...
